The AfroPunk Festival 2013 Brings the Funk

Eccentric and eclectic are the words that describe the free-spirited soiree of artist and trendsetters at this year’s AfroPunk Festival.  The annual Brooklyn festival is the one place where people can express themselves fully and unapologetically; an entertainment powerhouse for all things indie and of course, black.

Afros were picked out to show their full potential, there was a no-holds-barred attitude toward fashion and color, and the music, lets just say it was everything but politically correct.  An artistic celebration of free speech and liberation, this year’s festival lineup included big industry names like ?uestlove, Jada Pinkett-Smith’s band Wicked Wisdom, and more rebellious trios.  The fashion, the fun and the freedom, again, made the AfroPunk Festival the ultimate black experience.
