Luxe Spotlight: Designer Vivienne Hu
Luxe Spotlight: Vivienne Hu by Tanya Sotillo
Vivienne Hu recently debuted yet another stunning collection during 2016’s New York Fashion Week, this past February. Since obtaining a fashion degree from Parsons the New School for Design and gaining much experience working for Oscar de la Renta and Yigal Azrouel, Vivienne Hu has certainly made a name for herself in the fashion industry. Hu first established her brand with the launch of her first Spring/Summer collection in 2012 and went on to launch her flagship store in Soho, New York in 2013. Hu also has had her designs featured in a few magazines that all fashion lovers adore such as Elle and Bazaar. The inspiration for her designs comes from the various locations she has lived. Hu grew up in Asia, studied in Europe, and pursued her career in New York City. The elegance and exoticism from each of these unique areas are all what inspire each piece in the Vivienne Hu collections.
Hu’s most recent Fall/Winter 2016 came to life because of the influence of American painter Scott Kish and his painting called, “Movement,” which displays the energy of human movements. Her collection interpreted this movement through the usage of sharp curves and lines and intriguing forms and shapes. Here are a few pieces from the Fall/Winter 2016 collection.
