Fit In That Dress: Juicing Does Your Body Good
Juicing has steadily become more and more popular these days especially with the Nutribullet or Montel Williams HealthMaster infomercials in constant rotation. Juicing is the process of extracting juice from fruits and vegetables. It is thought to make it much easier for the body to absorb the nutrients from these foods. Considering most people do not get in the proper amount of fruits and vegetables a day juicing is a great way to balance your diet. If you use a juicer, like the Jack Lalanne below, you get all the juice with very little pulp. Which eliminates the healthy fiber found in fruits and vegetables.
Another option is to use juicers like the NutriBullet or the Magic Bullet. Both give you more of a smoothie type consistency and you get all of the fiber that you need. However, you do have to add some liquid to the fruits and vegetables other wise you get a paste not a smoothie. I usually add some coconut water or aloe vera juice in all of my recipes.
I own both a juicer and a Magic Bullet. Honestly, I use my Magic Bullet more often. It is easier to clean and I like the idea of using the whole fruit or vegetable. I find the pulp left over from my juicer to be a bit wasteful. My juices contain 75% green leafy vegetables and 25% fruits / juice. Ever since I started juicing at dinner I have toned up more, my skin looks healthier and even my hair is healthier. This is a great option if you are trying to cut down some pounds since spring is around the corner. What is even better you can find the Magic Bullet at your neighborhood Walmart or Target. Here are some of my go to ingredients; Kale, Spinach, Green Apples, Pineapple, Aloe Vera Juice (or gel) and Ginger. Enjoy getting healthier!
