Hi lovelies!

What does everyone have planned for next weekend? One of my favorite parts of Friday and Saturday are being able to go bold with makeup. During the week, being a working professional from 9-5 sometimes restricts us from wearing or expressing ourselves the way we want that ends up being somewhat unprofessional. If I had it my way, I would never put work place rules on outfits and makeup but that’s because I’m a self proclaimed makeup junkie/addict.

Anyways, the other day I was experimenting around with bold everything. I decided I wanted to play with a smokey eye. I typically never do smokey eyes because they can end up going one of two ways, either you look like you got punched and the other person won OR just simply amazing. Turns out, my first try on a bold smokey eye turned out gorgeous (if I do say so myself). This look was surprisingly easy and only required a couple of products.

I first took NYX Cosmetics Jumbo Pencil in Black and shaded my entire lid with this color. It looks messy at first but trust me, it all comes to together eventually. After coloring your lid, take a deep brownish color and with windshield wiper moves, apply it in your crease above the black. Don’t stop blending; keep doing this for a good 2-3 minutes. Then take any black matte eye-shadow that you have and apply it over the NYX jumbo pencil deepening the color. After doing this, take a clean blending brush and blend out any harsh lines so everything looks flawless. If needed, take a darker brown and apply it back in the crease to create an ombre like effect. Don’t forget to apply a highlight on the brow bone to pull the entire look together!

You can line your lids with liner if you want but the black shadow will most likely cover it up. Don’t forget mascara and the star of the show, false lashes! No smokey eye is complete without false lashes. I went very dramatic with the lash style but of course, I wouldn’t have it any other way!
