Professional Makeup Tips For Your Everyday Makeup Routine

Professional Makeup Tips For Your Everyday Makeup Routine By Megan Panwar

Even though I’m the type of gal who enjoys being in her natural state- no makeup, hair tied and comfy clothes; cleaning up and wearing some makeup can make a world’s difference in your appearance. Taking time for yourself to look polished in a professional work place not only delivers on your professionalism but also shows that you take the time to care for yourself and hygiene. The say, “don’t judge a book by it’s cover” but in my opinion and in the professional field, first impressions matter.

Today I’m sharing some important steps to incorporate in your everyday makeup routine for the professional, working woman!

-Always moisturize your face after washing your face and before makeup application. No matter your age or the type of skin you have, moisturizing is key in making your skin look healthy and hydrated.

-If you’re going for the minimal makeup look, skip out on the foundation and try out a Beauty Balm (BB) Cream. BB Creams are lightweight and almost always buildable if you want more coverage. This is also a great alternative if you’re not an avid beauty junkie and unsure about trying out foundations.

-Don’t go overboard with the blush but definitely don’t miss out on this step. Blush is created to give you a natural flush and glow on your cheeks- overdoing this step can make you look somewhat clownish which is the last thing you need in a professional work place. Cream blushes look the most natural but make sure to blend, blend, blend!

-Don’t skip out on mascara! This opens up the eyes making you appear more awake. Most businesspeople interact with others throughout the day, looking awake and fresh is key when talking to others, especially when pertaining to business.

-Highlighters don’t get enough credit in the makeup world. Whether a cream or powder highlighter, using a highlighter on all the high points of your face (bridge of your nose, forehead, under the brow, cheekbones, cupids bow and chin) give an illusion of a healthy, youthful glow. It’s an easy step in your makeup routine that can turn any look fabulous yet professional at the same time.

-In my opinion, lipstick completes any look. When it comes to a simple face, I personally love to go bold with the lips. If you feel as if red isn’t your cup of tea, pinks, peaches, corals and berries are business appropriate nudes that are suitable for every skin tone. Try to skip out on matte lips; you never want to have dry, peeling lips when interacting with other people. A satin finish will give a slight glossy look giving off the illusion that your lips are full and supple.
